With the approach of the winter holidays, the whole world is dressed in magic, emotion, good deeds and a lot of color. Every year, cities around the world compete in the preparation of the most spectacular Christmas fairs, and the organizers use different approaches designed to offer everyone an unforgettable experience.
The Christmas Fair in Sibiu is one of the most beautiful and well-known fairs in our country. The first edition took place in 2007, when the city held the title of European Capital of Culture. At the beginning, this was a pilot project, being for the first time when an event of this kind was organized in our country. The fair in Sibiu started with 38 houses assembled in Piata Mica, and in the following years their number increased, reaching even 80 houses.
The 14th edition of the Christmas Fair in Sibiu was inaugurated on November 26, 2021 and will end on December 27. After this date, the event will be called the New Year's Fair in Sibiu and will end on January 2, 2022. Each edition came with new activities, and this year tourists will be greeted by Santa's Workshop (visited annually by approx. 3000 children), Santa's Park (an amusement park loved by the little ones), the outdoor skating rink, the Ferris wheel or Santa's train. Also, 80 exhibitors offer visitors a wide range of products such as porcelain jewelry, Christmas accessories and decorations, handmade objects specific to the winter holidays, but also various gastronomic specialties.
Santa's workshops remain the main attraction in this year's edition, especially for the little ones. The children will enjoy the spirit of Christmas, will learn to work in a team and will train their patience and imagination. All workshops take place according to a certain schedule and also for each workshop reservations can be made for a group of at least 15 children.
For the story to be complete, the aroma of mulled wine with cinnamon will be accompanied by various concerts and grandiose projections. While you spend time with your family and enjoy the atmosphere of winter shopping, carol concerts, jazz, gospel music or folk performances will maintain the ambiance. At the same time, until the end of the event, there will be constant video projections with colored lights, winter landscapes and figurines.
