Funny, interesting, bizarre or ridiculous things can happen even in real estate. In other countries, thanks to some ingenious people, buildings were built "differently", in the shape of a picnic basket, speakers, tree, etc. Besides these constructions, there are others out of print and with stories worth telling.

In today's real estate blog article we present 15 curiosities, at least funny and interesting, in the field of international real estate.

1. The largest tree house in the world has over 80 rooms, 10 floors, and its construction lasted about 14 years.

2. Pagoda (tower-shaped religious building) in Horyuji, Japan, is the oldest wooden building on earth. It was built with timber from trees collected in 600 AD.

3. The Empire State Building, a skyscraper in New York, was opened during the Great Depression. During that time, much of its space remained uninhabited. For this reason, many New Yorkers referred to the building as the "Empty State Building."

4. Adolf Hitler once owned a mansion in Hollywood, in which he never stepped.

5. Canada and Denmark have been trying to win Hans Island for decades, and during this time they have challenged the claim to the island. Both countries regularly visit the island to remove the other country's flag and leave a bottle of Danish schnapps or Canadian whiskey. This is their way of waging "war."

6. In 1997, Pepsi organized a contest to win a life-size replica of the Simpsons house or $ 75,000. The winner of the contest chose the money. The house was then renovated to look like a normal and resold house.

7. Fans of the "Breaking Bad" series continue to drive and throw pizza on the roof of the building presented as Walter White's house.

8. Monica's apartment in the hit series "Friends" is estimated at $ 3.5 million.

9. Amazon named a building after its first customer, who spent $ 27.95 to buy a book. The acquisition was made in 1995, and the book was about artificial intelligence.

10. Mark Zuckerberg bought four houses near his house in Palo Alto and rented them back to the families who lived there. He did it to prevent those houses from being sold under the slogan "next to Mark Zuckerberg's house."

11. Winchester Mansion, in Santa Clara Valley, California, was a true modern wonder for those times, being completed in 1884. It was built non-stop, 24 hours a day for 38 years. Many claimed that the property was haunted by the ghosts of those killed by Winchester rifles.

12. When the Eiffel Tower was built, the designer included a secret apartment for him at the top.

13. The location of Tony Stark's mansion in "Iron Man" is the same rock in the movie "Planet of the Apes" where the Statue of Liberty emerges from the sand.

14. In 2013, several teenagers broke into a house while the owner was away, causing damages of approximately $ 20,000. Later, some of the teenagers' parents threatened the owner to sue him because he put them on Twitter.

15. There is a company that specializes in building secret rooms and hidden passages (one of these rooms built requires a chessboard played in a certain combination to unlock it).
