Some people see smart homes as a fad, and those who have a busy schedule are delighted with the devices that make their daily work easier. In other countries, homes of this type are preferred by most homeowners who want to integrate technology into all areas of their lives. Slowly, slowly, and in Romania, smart homes are no longer a taboo subject. People understand that the implementation of smart devices offers increased comfort, more security for owners and lower costs for bills.

Today's real estate blog article gives you some general information about smart homes, what are the advantages and disadvantages and what are the most common smart devices in such a home.

When we talk about the devices found in this type of home we refer to home lighting, smart sockets, smart thermostats (temperature can be adjusted remotely), security systems with wireless cameras, video intercom, motion sensors, flood or smoke detection, Bluetooth door locks, etc. In other words, all these devices are connected via the internet. These devices serve the owners much faster and more efficiently, and the worries we took care of every day disappear.

What are the advantages of a home that is based on an intelligent system?
• Ensures increased comfort, all controls being one click away;
• You can choose any design because there will be nothing in sight;
• Provides increased security through complex access, protection and security systems;
• All systems in the house will work only when they receive an order and thus the cost for invoices will be lower;
• Save time you can spend with your family or doing your favorite activities.

What are the disadvantages of designing such a home?
• Implementation costs are a disadvantage because in addition to purchasing the desired objects, you may need to turn to a specialized company;
• Most devices work by connecting to the internet, so its lack makes them non-functional.

There are a number of general systems and devices that underlie a smart home:
1. Temperature control system
It is one of the most beneficial systems because it directly contributes to reducing heating costs. It will maintain a constant heat, regardless of whether the house is insulated outside and / or inside, and the most important aspect: you can adjust a temperature for each room.

2. Security system
Perhaps the most important system in a smart home because it can warn you, even if you are very far from home, of any problem that arises. It is based on fire sensors, video and audio surveillance system and alarm system. When a problem is reported, the security system will send a notification to your device and wait for an order.

3. Light control system
Through this system you can adjust the lights depending on the season, the time of day, the light needed for each room, etc. It is based on sensors that detect movement and turn on the lights automatically. With the help of this system you will make sure that no electricity is consumed unnecessarily. There are also smart sockets that turn off the electricity if you are not at home and can detect how much energy any appliance plugged in consumes.

4. Home maintenance system
A robot vacuum cleaner, washing machine or dishwasher, a refrigerator or other appliances in the home can receive remote controls and work efficiently until you return home. You can control all this by phone or tablet, using specific applications.

5. Audio-video control system
It requires the control of all audio-video devices in the home. For example, through a multiroom audio system, your favorite kind of music is listened to in any room, at the same time if you want.
