Choosing a home is an important step for any family, and an important feature to consider is the area in which you are going to move.

Today we present you 8 reasons why it’s worth living in Șelimbăr, a commune that has slowly become one of the most sought after residential areas in Sibiu. Moreover, Șelimbăr is the second richest commune in the country, after Ilfov.

1. The largest shopping center in the city – Shopping City Sibiu, the largest shopping center in Sibiu, is a few minutes walk away. The mall in Șelimbăr offers supermarkets, numerous clothing and footwear stores, and has recently opened a new wing with restaurants.

2. New neighborhoods with many young people – Șelimbăr has definitely established itself in recent years on the real estate market. Many houses for sale were built here, mainly populated by young families who are eager to socialize, but also to mobilize for the well-being of the neighborhood.

3. The streets of Șelimbăr are 80% paved/asphalted – The numerous residential complexes built in Șelimbăr have raised the need for new access roads. At this moment, the streets of Șelimbăr are 80% asphalted/paved and illuminated. The local authorities mentioned that most of the budget for 2019 will be allocated to infrastructure development.

4. Easy access to Sibiu. – The residents of Șelimbăr have easy access to Sibiu. The main access road is Mihai Viteazu Street, but they can easily reach the city using Octavian Goga Street or Stefan cel Mare ramp (the latter being with easy access to the city ring road, but also to the motorway).

5. School and kindergarten – In Șelimbăr there is the „Mihai Viteazu” school (grades I-VIII) with teaching in Romanian (but English and German are studied), but also a kindergarten with extended program (with teaching in Romanian and German).

6. Shops/pharmacies – In order to avoid congestion in the city or the endless queues that form in the mall area, in Șelimbăr there are mini-markets, household products shops and pharmacies.

7. Dispensary, restaurants, leisure areas – In Șelimbăr there are many restaurants (El Gringo, pizzeria Biancaneve, etc.) a dispensary and a veterinary pharmacy located on the main street, but also recreational areas (tennis, volleyball and basketball courts).

8. Public transport – For those who do not own a car, travelling to Sibiu can be a problem, but in Șelimbăr, there are bus stations that connect the commune to the points of interest in Sibiu.
